Non-oil trade between UAE, China totalled AED1.72 trillion over 10 years

ABU DHABI, The non-oil trade between the UAE and China increased by 78.5 percent from 2012 to 2021, totalling AED223.5 billion by the end of 2021 compared to AED125.1 billion in 2012.

According to figures from the Federal Competitiveness and Statistics Centre (FCSC), during this reporting period, the total value of their non-oil trade exceeded AED1.72 trillion, including imports valued at AED1.53 trillion, non-oil exports valued at AED64 billion, and re-exports valued at AED121 billion.

The FCSC’s figures also showed that the non-oil trade exchange between the UAE and China in the first half of 2022 totalled AED118.4 billion, consisting of imports valued at AED102.7 billion, non-oil exports valued at AED5.5 billion, and re-exports valued at AED9.8 billion. The year 2017 recorded the highest trade exchange in the last decade worth AED195.6 billion, a rise of 15 percent compared to 2016.

Telecommunications devices topped the list of goods imported from China over the past year, amounting to AED70 billion, followed by data processing equipment at AED23.6 billion, medical vaccines at AED4.1 billion, display screens at AED2.5 billion, and headphones and amplifiers at AED2.5 billion In the list of top five goods exported to China, ethylene polymers came in the first place with AED4 billion, followed by propylene polymers with AED1.9 billion, rapeseed oil with AED1.4 billion, copper scraps with AED600 million, and residues of fatty oil extraction with AED570 million.

In last year’s list of re-exports to China, telecommunications devices came in the first place with AED8.3 billion, followed by data processing equipment with AED2.09 billion, vehicles with some AED1.5 billion, raw nickel with AED1.3 billion, and car accessories with AED600 million.

‘Al-Jundi’ journal publishes its new October 2022 issue

ABU DHABI, Al-Jundi journal issued by the UAE Ministry of Defence has published its new October 2022 issue No. 585.

Through its latest issue published in both Arabic and English, the journal using research and analysis touched on several vital issues and topics, as well as the most important events and news related to the Ministry of Defence and the UAE Armed Forces.

Under the title “Al-Jundi .. 49 years of giving”, Al-Jundi said in its editorial, “On the 1st of October, Al-Jundi journal celebrated the 49th anniversary of the release of its first issue on October 1, 1973, per the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, which guided the magazine to success and progress, making it a scientific edifice that plays a distinguished role in the media and on a cultural level.”

UAE leaders congratulate Cypriot President on Independence Day

ABU DHABI, President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, has sent a message of congratulations to Nicos Anastasiades, President of Cyprus, on the occasion of his country’s Independence Day, which is observed on 1st October.

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, also sent similar message to the Cypriot President, on the occasion.

October 8 confirmed as public sector holiday for Prophet’s birthday

ABU DHABI, The Federal Authority for Government Human Resources has announced that Saturday, 8th October, will be a public holiday for federal government employees to mark the birthday of the Prophet Mohammed.

A circular issued by the Federal Authority for Government Human Resources today added that work will resume on Monday, 10th October.

The Authority congratulated President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan; His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai; Their Highnesses the Supreme Council Members and Rulers of the Emirates; as well as the people of the UAE and the Arab and Islamic nations on this occasion.
