ABU DHABI, H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, on Monday, received Peter Szijjarto, Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade.
The two sides discussed bilateral relations and ways to enhance cooperation in economic, commercial, investment and educational fields.
They also exchanged views on current regional developments and reviewed a number of regional and international issues of mutual interest.
Sheikh Abdullah welcomed Szijjarto's visit and emphasised UAE's keenness to develop bilateral cooperation with Hungary in all areas.
Szijjarto stressed the importance of a partnership and cooperation between the UAE and Hungary and the need to grow them for the benefit of the two friendly peoples.
During the meeting, two Memorandums of Understanding, MoUs, were signed. The first MoU, on security and counter-terrorism cooperation, was signed between the interior ministries of the two countries. The other one, on cooperation in academic research, was signed between the Emirates Diplomatic Academy and the Hungarian Institute for Foreign Affairs and Trade.
At the end of the meeting, Szijjarto presented to Sheikh Abdullah an artwork depicting the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan. He described the work as a token of appreciation to the founding father, "to commemorate the birth centenary of this great leader and to join UAE's celebrations for the Year of Zayed."
The meeting was attended by Khalifa Shaheen Al-Marar, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation for Political Affairs.
