Abu Dhabi University recognises 4 winning creatives of ‘UAE Threads’ competition

ABU DHABI, Abu Dhabi University (ADU) has announced the winners of its “UAE Threads” Textiles Competition which witnessed the participation of eight teams consisting of 26 students from the College of Engineering (CoE), Interior Design programme at ADU.

Hosted in partnership with platinum sponsor Abu Dhabi National Insurance Company (ADNIC) and golden sponsor The Ritz Carlton Abu Dhabi, the competition included three main categories focusing on furniture and artwork inspired by the UAE Heritage and EXPO 2020.

The ceremony took place in attendance of Ahmed Mohammed Sultan Al Dhaheri, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors and Managing Director of Abu Dhabi National Hotels; Charalampos Mylonas, Deputy CEO of ADNIC; and Christian Hoehn, General Manager of The Ritz Carlton Abu Dhabi.

During the event, the teams presented their designs and creative projects to jury members and attendees. The jury announced the winning teams where the first place went to Dana Aqab, Lujain Al Musawa and Fatima Al Zabidi. The second place went to Rajaa Mahmoud, Aya Alfaiadh, Hesa Alrayes and Noor Barasheed.

The third place was awarded to Layal Ayoub, Noor Hammad and Amal El Ansari, and the fourth place went to Sallam Qora’an, Meera Zreik Farhat, Sarah Sami and Noor Aldarwich.

The sponsors and jury members were presented with appreciation awards for their participation.
