SHARJAH, The meeting of the Board of Directors of the Sharjah Charity International, SCI, discussed a number of ideas, proposals and initiatives that will contribute to the continuation of the performance of the SCI and its humanitarian work, including internal assistance, external projects, the Ramadan campaign and a variety of programmes within this year's agenda.

The meeting was attended by Sheikh Issam bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Chairman of SCI; Sultan bin Butti Al Muhairi, Vice Chairman; Abdullah Mubarak Al Dukhan, Secretary-General of the SCI, and Board Members Ali Mohamed Al Salami, Dr. Saeed Abdullah Al-Madhloum and Sultan Matar bin Dalmuk.

The meeting touched on the total revenues of the SCI last year, which reached AED343 million, an increase of four percent, the cost of foreign aid projects amounting to AED210 million and the cost of internal assistance amounting to AED88 million, and assistance for 150 families, at a cost of AED5 million.

The meeting touched on the vision of the SCI in 2019, which unanimously agreed to focus on education projects, health, fresh water and service projects and productivity, as they touch the need of those in need directly. The council's vision for the internal work of charity in 2019 focuses on needy families and provides basic services that help them to lead a dignified life, such as treatment and education, which are in line with the general vision of the Charity and enable the beneficiaries and the needy to rely on themselves.

The meeting also discussed the SCI plan for the Ramadan campaign, and the preparations of the committees to implement the campaign axes such as the projects, Zakat al-Mal, Zakat al-Fitr, and Eid clothes.
