CAIRO, 25th November, 2015 (WAM) — Al-Azhar Al-Sharif, Egypt’s renowned Islamic institution, has expressed its strong condemnation of the vicious terrorist attack that targeted the residence of supervising judges of the parliamentary elections in the Egyptian town of el-Arish, northern Sinai, which resulted in the death of a judge and two recruits, as well as injures to 14 others.

In a press statement, Al-Azhar said that “such a cowardly terrorist attack will not terrorise honourable Egyptian judges or impede them from continuing their national role in the dissemination of justice and supervision of the elections with full transparency, as it would not be able to disrupt the democratic process and the roadmap.”

The statement said that as Al-Azhar condemns this criminal incident, it also mourns martyrs of national duty and offered condolences to the Egyptian government and people, as well as the martyrs’ families, wishing the injured a speedy recovery.
