Al Azhar condemns terrorist bombings in Saudi Arabia, stressing it stands on its side in face of terrorism

CAIRO, 5th July, 2016 (WAM) -- Al-Azhar Al-Sharif has strongly condemned the terrorist bombings in Saudi Arabia, one of which targeted security forces near Al-Haram al-Nabawi, which resulted in four security men being killed and others injured, in addition to the other two blasts near Al Qatif.

In a statement, Al-Azhar Al-Sharif confirmed the sanctity of innocent blood and mosques, especially the Prophet's Mosque, which has a special place in the hearts of all Muslims.

It also condemned attempts by terrorists and extremists to involve mosques in their struggles to spread their malicious thoughts during the Holy Month of Ramadan, and which coincides with Muslims celebrations of Eid al-Fitr across the world.

Al Azhar also confirmed that it would stand by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in the fight against terrorism, calling upon all countries and regional and international organisations to unite against terrorism. The statement also expressed condolences to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz, and the Saudi government and people.

It also expressed its heartfelt sympathy to the families of martyrs, praying to Allah the Almighty to rest their souls in Paradise and speed recovery to the inquired.
