RAS AL KHAIMAH, Al Rahmah Charity in Ras al-Khaimah is providing 2,000 daily Iftar meals inside the country and 40 locations outside the country in the mosques built by the society.
Abdullah Saeed Al Tunaiji, Secretary-General of the charity, said that 2,000 fasting people are given Iftar in Ras al-Khaimah through 11 locations, which are distributed around several tents and mosques, at a cost of AED500,000. The project has also been implemented in India, Bangladesh, Uganda and Indonesia, and its mechanisms vary between countries, such as iftar tables in Bangladesh or delivering food to the houses of poor families in Uganda, he added.
Al Tunaiji stressed that as part of Al Rahmah's projects for the Holy Month of Ramadan, zakat money will be given to families who abstain from begging in Ras al-Khaimah.
