MOSCOW, 5th June, 2016 (WAM) — Dr. Amal Abdullah Al Qubaisi, Speaker of the Federal National Council (FNC), has stressed the pivotal role of mosques, their functions, educational and ethical guidelines, and their social message in the life of Muslims.
She also referred to the role of scholars and preachers in clarifying the correct image of true Islam, its lofty principles and teachings, and values ??in the light of distortions perpetuated by the terrorist groups under the cover of Islam to carry out their vested agendas.
The UAE official underscored the importance of building bridges between states and peoples to communicate and fortify generations from extremist ideas.
The FNC speaker made the remarks while visiting the Moscow Mosque along with her accompanying delegation as part of her official visit to Russia.
The delegation included Abdul Aziz Abdullah Al Zaabi, Second Deputy Speaker of the FNC, Dr. Saeed Abdullah Al Mutawa, and the FNC members, namely, Jamal Mohammed Al Hai, Khalfan Abdullah bin Youkha, Afra Rashid Al Basti. Also accompanying were UAE Ambassador to Russia, Omar Saif Ghobash and a number of members of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation.
They toured the mosque, which was built in 1904. It underwent restoration and expansion work, and was re-opened by Vladimir Putin, the President of Russia, in 2015.
