ANF has recovered 16.7 Kg Opium, 18 Kg Charas and Heroin filled capsules during five operations conducted across the country.
During these operations ANF has also arrested eight persons including a Nigerian national involved in drug trafficking and seized two vehicles. The value of recovered drugs approximately amounts to Rs. 66.8 Million in International Market. Meanwhile UAE Authorities recovered 13.2 Kg Heroin on information shared by ANF.
According to details, on information shared by ANF Intelligence Wing, UAE Authorities conducted an operation and arrested a Spanish woman Sandra Esperanza Tinio Rozerio in UAE along with recovery of 13.2 Kg Heroin from her personal possession. As per initial reports Heroin was to be delivered in Spain. The accused is reported to be working with a Drug Trafficking Organisation based at Spain.
ANF Rawalpindi Airport Team arrested a Nigerian National namely Nwabueze Kingley at Benazir Bhutto International Airport Islamabad on suspicion of gulped heroin filled capsules. During interrogation, the accused confessed of having 50 Heroin capsules in his stomach. The accused intended to fly for Dubai by PIA Flight No.PK211.
ANF Lahore on pursuance of an information, arrested a drug carrier namely Khalil Khan, resident of Kohat near Niazi Bus Stand Bund Road, Lahore and recovered 2.3 Kg Opium from his personal possession. The accused came from Peshawar to Lahore for delivery of drugs to a local peddler.
ANF Lahore Road Check Team, intercepted a Suzuki Mehran Car No. RL5414 near Motorway Toll Plaza, Faisalabad and recovered 14.4 Kg Opium concealed in secret cavities of the car. Two accused involved in drug trafficking namely Sher Wali and Qamraiz Khan, both residents of Mardan were taken into custody. As per preliminary investigations, they were trying to smuggle the drugs to Faisalabad City for local use.
ANF Peshawar Road Check Team, intercepted a Toyota Corolla XLI Car Registered No. HY644 near Rehman CNG, Hangu Road, Kohat and recovered 18 Kg Charas from the car. Three persons on board namely Mohammad Shafique, Mohammad Usman and WaliurRehman, all residents of Hangu were arrested on the spot. As per initial reports, they were trying smuggling the drugs to Punjab for local consumption.
ANF Peshawar Airport Team during routine checking at Peshawar Airport, arrested an accused namely Insaaf Gul, resident of Hangu on suspicion of ingested heroin filled capsules. During initial investigations, the accused confessed of having heroin filled capsules in his stomach.
The accused was to board for Jeddah by Shaheen Airlines Flight No.NL721. Cases have been registered against all the detainees at respective ANF Police Stations and further investigations are under process.
