DUBAI, The Anti-Narcotics Council has recently convened to step up efforts of combatting drugs.
During the meeting, which was held at the Dubai Police Officers Club, Lt. General Dhahi Khalfan Tamim, Deputy Chief of Police and Public Security in Dubai and Chairman of the UAE Anti-Narcotics Council, urged security bodies to step up efforts in order to combat drugs and protect the youth from falling prey to drugs.
The Council also reviewed methods of detecting drug smuggling routes, as well as identifying means of concealment and ways of seizing drugs and controlling criminal networks.
The council also affirmed the importance of international cooperation to control suspicious shipments.
A number of prominent topics on the agenda were also examined during the meeting and appropriate decisions were taken accordingly.
