RIYADH, 2nd March, 2016 (WAM) — The Customs authorities in Arab countries have approved the recommendations of an Arab specialist team of customs administrations to follow up the outcomes of the previous forums to combat commercial fraud and counterfeiting and protection of intellectual property rights.

The outcomes include activating the recommendation of the Third Forum in 2013, approving the date of 3rd March each year as the ‘Day of Combating Commercial Fraud, Counterfeiting and Intellectual Property Protection’.

The Saudi Press Agency, SPA, quoted Eisa Al-Eisa, Saudi Customs Spokesman Adviser, as saying that this comes within the framework of the efforts being exerted by the Saudi Customs and customs of Arab states to combat the phenomenon of commercial fraud and counterfeiting and protect intellectual property rights.
