CAIRO, 28th June, 2016 (WAM) — Ambassador Mervat Tallawy, Director General of the Arab Women’s Organisation, praised the decision of Najat Vallaud-Belkacem, French Minister of Education, Higher Education, and Research, to formally introduce the Arabic language to the curriculum in the next academic year (2017), giving French students the option to select it as a foreign language integrated within the French educational system.

Ambassador Tallawy considered this decision a positive step for the Arab community living in France to learn Arabic, especially given its importance in the consolidation of the Arab identity.
