Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov met with President of Latvia Andris Berziņs as part of his official visit to the country, the foreign ministry told APA.
The sides underlined the high-level development of relations between Azerbaijan and Latvia.
President Andris Berziņs expressed his hope that Azerbaijan will be represented at the highest level at Eastern Partnership Summit to take place in Riga on May 21-22, praising energy ties between the EU and Azerbaijan.
Mammadyarov recalled that there is a strategic energy partnership between Azerbaijan and the EU, stressing the importance TANAP and TAP projects in terms of developing energy cooperation with the EU.
Giving information about the negotiations on the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabkah conflict, the minister noted that Latvia’s position had been determined in the documents signed between the two countries.
Moreover, the sides exchanged views on issues of mutual interest.
