MANAMA, 19th October, 2016 (WAM) — Bahrain’s Deputy Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa praised the programmes and objectives of the Geneva Centre for Human Rights Advancement and Global Dialogue.

This came when Al Khalifa met with Dr. Hanif Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Geneva Centre for Human Rights Advancement and Global Dialogue and staff of the centre, in the presence of Bahrain’s Education Minister, Dr. Majid bin Ali Al-Nuaimi.

Al Khalifa praised the establishment of the centre, along with its vital role, programmes and activities that seek to raise the awareness of peoples and communities, in general, and those interested in human rights affairs, in particular.

He also noted that the centre represents a quantum addition in the international field, especially in light of the atmosphere of violence and extremism sweeping the world, which requires the concerted efforts of both official and governmental bodies and civil society organisations to counter terrorism.

Al Qasim expressed his appreciation for Sheikh Mohammed bin Mubarak’s visit to the centre and briefed him about the establishment of the centre, as well as its programmes and events, including conferences, forums, as well as research and training activities.
