MANAMA, Bahrain, Bahrain's Electricity and Water Affairs Minister, Dr. Abdulhussain Mirza, is to take part in Abu Dhabi Sustainability 2016, at the invitation of the UAE Energy Minister, Suhail Al Mazroui.

The event, which began yesterday, coincides with the opening of the World Future Energy Summit, and the Water Summit.

The recipient of the Zayed Future Energy Prize will also be announced during the event, attended by a number of heads of state, ministers, ambassadors and a large number of officials and specialists.

The meetings will discuss areas of renewable energy, and the activities of the International Renewable Energy Agency.

Bahrain was one of the first countries in the region, to become a member of the agency in 2009, after it was set up, in the German city of Bonn.

In a statement, Dr. Mirza said, Bahrain's participation in the event comes from its importance at the local, regional and international levels, and where participation from more than 80 countries from around the world are present.
