Bahraini King receives UNDP Administrator

MANAMA, 1st November, 2015 (WAM) -- His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa of Bahrain has received Helen Clark, Administrator of the United Nations Development Programme, UNDP, on the sidelines of her participation in the 11th IISS, International Institute for Strategic Studies, Manama Dialogue 2015, which began on Friday in the Kingdom of Bahrain.

According to Bahrain News Agency, BNA, King Hamad hailed the UNDP-led efforts and initiatives which contributed to consolidating Bahrain's competences in the field of sustainable and human development in the framework of good relations and constructive cooperation bonding Bahrain and the UN agencies though diverse human, economic and social programmes.

He reiterated Bahrain's support to the UNDP development programmes and initiatives as well as keenness on building an effective partnership with the UN in the framework of the Kingdom's commitment to supporting international efforts and contributing to shaping a more prosperous future for all peoples in the world.

Organised annually, the IISS Manama Dialogue provides a forum for the national security establishments of the participating states to exchange views on regional security challenges.
