CAIRO, 22nd June, 2016 (WAM) — The League of Arab States has announced that Mauritania, which will host the ordinary Arab Summit in its 27th edition in July, has briefed the Arab League on its preparations to host the summit, being held under the slogan, ‘Summit of Hope’, starting with the opening of a new airport and accommodation for delegations and leaders.

Ambassador Ahmed Ben Helli, Deputy Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, in a statement made after talks with the Mauritanian Ambassador to Egypt and its Permanent Representative to the Arab League, Widadi Ould Sidi Haiba, expressed the Arab League’s appreciation to Mauritania in recognition of its efforts to organise an Arab summit in just three months, noting that documents and political, economic, and social files have been prepared for the summit, along with draft resolutions and a draft on the expected outcome of ‘Declaration Nouakchott’.
