Bodies of three abducted cattle traders found after three days at Bandarban’s Thanchi

Thanchi police OC Sirajul Islam said the bodies were recovered during a search in the Upazila's Dim Paharh area around 3:30pm on Monday.

He identified the deceased as Md Abu Bakkar, Md Nurul Absar and Md Shahab Uddin. All of them hailed from the Alikadam Upazila.

The cattle traders were kidnapped from Thanchi-Alikadam road's Dim Paharh area on Friday.

Police later detained four people for their suspected involvement in the crime.

Thanchi police SI Moshiur Rahman said the detainees, who were taken along during search operation, led the police to the bodies Monday.

The abductors had demanded Tk 300,000 as ransom from the families of the three cattle traders, Thanchi Sadar Union Chairman Mangsar Mrom said earlier.

But police refused to comment on the ransom.
