The army air defenses repelled on Tuesday an Israeli missile aggression that targeted military points in Damascus countryside and shot down some missiles.

A military source stated in a statement to SANA that ‘at approximately 02:10 a.m. on Tuesday, the Israeli enemy launched an aerial attack from the direction of the occupied Syrian Golan, targeting a number of military points in the Damascus countryside.’

The source added: ‘Our air defenses repelled the aggression’s missiles and shot down some of them.’

The source noted that the aggression caused only material losses.

DUBAI: Under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Second Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Media Council, Dubai Press Club (DPC) today organised the ninth edition of the Emirati Media Forum (EMF).

Highlighting the significance of the forum, Sheikh Ahmed said local media play a critical role in addressing key issues facing the local society and economy. A strong media that can make sense of complex factors shaping the world and delivering content that advances society’s best interests is vital for navigating the multitude of changes we are seeing today, he noted.

Sheikh Ahmed said the Emirati Media Forum provides the local media community a plat
form for a meaningful dialogue on effectively covering the massive shifts sweeping the globe. The event is aligned with the UAE’s efforts to enhance its global stature as a business, investment and tourism destination, under the leadership of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai.

Sheikh Ahmed urged Emirati media to combine their resources and capabilities to tell the remarkable stories of success, innovation and growth emerging from the UAE. He stressed the need to ensure the UAE’s narrative is heard by global audiences. It is important to showcase the country’s achievements including its exceptional rankings in global competitiveness indices and its ability be at the forefront of rapid technological changes, he added.

He emphasised the importance of providing youth with opportunities to contribute innovative ideas, which will help raise excellence in the industry. Sheikh Ahmed also highlighted the role of the Dubai Media Council in advancing the development of the media industry by fostering productive partnerships, nurturing media talent, and encouraging creativity and innovation in the sector.

Mona Al Marri, Vice Chairperson and Managing Director of the Dubai Media Council, and President of the Dubai Press Club, said that this year’s forum is focused on discussing vital economic issues. Against the backdrop of the UAE’s remarkable recent economic surge, demonstrated by its non-oil foreign trade exceeding AED3.5 trillion in 2023, the forum discussed how the media can contribute to building on the country’s achievements to accelerate its path to a brighter future and strengthen its status as one of the world’s leading destinations for economic opportunity.

She
also emphasised that the media plays a crucial role both in understanding the present and shaping the future. Two Israeli settlers were injured in a shooting attack carried out by a Palestinian on Tuesday at the illegal Gush settlement junction in Palestinian Hebron in the south of the occupied West Bank.

Israeli public radio reported that the two settlers who died were members of the Israeli occupation army.

According to the Israeli army spokesperson, one of the injured settlers was declared to be in serious condition, while the other was hit by shrapnel.

He announced that the suspected attacker was killed by gunned down and killed by Israeli occupation soldiers.

The Israeli enemy opened fire with heavy machine guns in the early morning hours on Tuesday towards forests adjacent to the southern Lebanese towns of Ramieh and Ayta Al-Shaab in the central sector from its positions near the Blue Line.

The southern town of Hanine in the eastern sector was subjected to artillery shelling, resulting in serious damage to property and the electricity network.

Tribes of Jabal al-Sharq district in Dhamar province have organized an armed tribal stand in solidarity with the Palestinian people.

In the stand which also came over the continuing the American-British aggression against Yemen, participants chanted slogans denouncing the continued crimes of the Zionist enemy against the Palestinian people in light of the silence of the international community and regional neglect.

The participants confirmed that the tribes will remain at the forefront of the ranks in support of the Palestinian people and their valiant resistance, making the month of Ramadan a jihad’s station and a triumphant flood for Gazans.

They denounced the blatant American-British aggression that affected a number of Yemeni provinces, blaming America and its coalition for the consequences of this escalation, which is inconsistent with international laws.

The participants announced their support for the decision of the Leader of the Revolution, Mr. Abdul Malik Badr al-Din al-Houthi, and the Armed For
ces to expand the position in support of the Palestinian people, which is to prevent the passage of Israeli ships heading to the Zionist entity through the Indian Ocean.
