Clinton concedes defeat in phone call to new US President Donald Trump

WASHINGTON, DC, 9th November, 2016 (WAM) -- Donald Trump today became the 45th US President.

The republican sensationally won the race for the White House after winning key states like Ohio, Florida and North Carolina.

Hillary Clinton phoned him earlier to concede she had lost the race.

Speaking to his supporters, President-elect Donald Trump, said, "I promise you I will not let you down, we'll do a great job."

"We will double the economic growth to become the best in the world. We will seek peace, not unrest and problems, and we will work with all countries to achieve that," he added.
