Chief of Army Staff (COAS), General Raheel Sharif, on Tuesday called on Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and briefed him over his recent foreign visits.
According to detail, the PM and army chief reviewed implementation of National Action Plan (NAP), and discussed matters pertaining to ZarbeAzb operation and return of IDPs to their areas.
The PM and COAS expressed satisfaction over progress into the antiTaliban military offensive and agreed to expedite it, sources said.
In the meeting, reports said, General Sharif briefed the PM about his recent visits to Afghanistan and UAE.
The two also reviewed the progress of Operation ZarbeAzab and its outcome on the security situation in the country.
The military operation is a major offensive against the Taliban and other militants in the tribal area of North Waziristan which was stepped up after the APS attack in December 2014.
During the meeting, the settlement of the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) from warravaged North Waziristan was also discussed in detail.
