RIYADH, 3rd March, 2016 (WAM) — The Command of the Coalition to Support Legitimacy in Yemen announced today in a statement that it has demanded that ships and tankers anchored in the sea port of Hodeida, in the west of the country, leave the port immediately to open the way for the many ships waiting to enter the port.

The Saudi Press Agency, SPA, said that the Coalition Command stressed that all ships, especially United Nations relief and humanitarian organisations ships, which carry licenses and permits to cross, will be allowed to pass and their missions will be facilitated.

The statement said that this comes after the Command of the Coalition received a complaint from the Yemeni Ministry of Transport regarding ships anchored in the port after landing their cargos, causing congestion and disruption to the entry of ships waiting in Yemeni territorial waters.
