ABU DHABI -- The committee formed to execute the directives of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan to grant citizenship to the children of Emirati mothers has confirmed the names of 208 applicants, the children of mothers who met the conditions, to receive the country's nationality, in preparation for issuing their decrees according to legal procedures and steps and in co-ordination with concerned authorities.

The decision of the committee comes as part of the Year of Giving, which was announced by President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, coinciding with the Holy Month of Ramadan.

This came during a meeting that was held today by the committee at the Presidential Palace, headed by Ahmed Juma Al Za'abi, Deputy Minister for Presidential Affairs and Chairman of the Committee, in the presence of Ali bin Hamad Al Shamsi, Deputy Secretary-General of the Supreme National Security Council, and representatives of the Ministry of Presidential Affairs, Ministry of Interior and the State security.

Al Za'abi stressed that the committee's decision represents the vision of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan and His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, on the importance of including the children of Emirati mothers in the national fabric, providing for their happiness and guaranteeing their stability, which will deepen their love, loyalty and belonging to the nation. He highlighted the support and sponsorship of His Highness the President to the Emirati mother, and his appreciation of her key role in the community's development.

He also valued the continuous monitoring and correct directives of H.H. Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs, which had a great effect in the committee's execution of its tasks in the best possible way, while calling for those who have earned the country's citizenship to be able to handle their responsibility and commit to the country, its constitution and its systems, and to contribute by spending greater dedication and sacrifice to maintain its prosperity and return the favour to the nation and its leadership.
