DUBAI, The Communication Committee of Hatta Comprehensive Development Plan held its first committee meeting to discuss its 2017 media plan.
Last November, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, unveiled the AED1.3 billion plan to transform the mountain city of Hatta into a world-class tourist destination. The plan includes building hundreds of homes for Emiratis, and developing green areas for winter sports and a mountain track circuit. It also features a cultural festival and scholarships for young people.
The Media Communication Committee, formed by the Government of Dubai Media Office in charge of all media-related matters concerning the Hatta development plan, includes communication representatives from the main entities involved in the plan. The committee reviewed ideas and suggestions to provide communications support for the development plan via traditional and social media over the next few months.
Al-Maydi Al-Badawi, Project Manager of Hatta Comprehensive Development Plan, praised the efforts of the organisations involved. He also lauded the role played by the communication committee in tracking the progress of the development plan and keeping the public, mainly Hatta's citizens, informed about the project's progress.
