RIYADH, 30th January, 2017 (WAM) — The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud of Saudi Arabia, received a telephone call on Sunday from US President, Donald Trump.

According to the Saudi Press Agency, SPA, the two sides discussed the historic relations between the two friendly countries and the latest developments in the region and the world.

The depth and strength of the strategic relations between the two countries were also emphasised. The views of the two leaders coincided on the matters that were discussed during the call, including the fight against terrorism, extremism, the financing of the same, formulating the appropriate mechanisms and confronting those who seek to undermine security and stability in the region, interfering in the internal affairs of other states.

King Salman issued an invitation to the US President to visit the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and the invitation was reciprocated by President Trump. The two leaders stressed the importance of the visits in order to stimulate cooperation and joint action, and promote the strategic partnership between the two countries.
