Delegation from Niger lauds initiatives of Zayed CHF

ABU DHABI, A delegation from Niger lauded the efforts of the UAE and the initiatives of the Zayed Charitable and Humanitarian Foundation (Zayed CHF) to support their country, through a range of relevant projects, most notably the construction of a student housing at the humanities university worth US$1.7 million and a project to dig wells in areas affected by drought, as well as seasonal projects, such as the Zayed Hajj Programme and Ramadan Iftar projects.

This came during a meeting between Dr. Ibrahim Al Zaabi, Director of the Programmes and Projects Department at the Foundation, and a representative of Laouan Magagi, Minister of Humanitarian Action and Disaster Management of Niger, along with a senior delegation comprising representatives of humanitarian organisations.

The two sides discussed the cooperation between Zayed CHF and Niger, and Al Zaabi presented the foundation’s local and international projects. He then highlighted the foundation’s keenness to launch projects in Africa aimed at easing the suffering of local people, especially during times of crises and natural disasters.

The two sides also discussed future projects in Niger, especially relief projects that will help provide decent lives to people affected during crises, in addition to major projects, such as those in the areas of education and health.

“Due to the endowment of the Founding Leader, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the foundation continued to conduct its charity and humanitarian work and local and international studies, to establish strategic plans that will promote international humanitarian cooperation in tolerance and peace,” Al Zaabi said.

The delegation from Niger invited the foundation to visit their country for field visits and discuss future projects, lauding its significant efforts to help people affected by natural disasters.
