ABU DHABI, 10th December, 2016 (WAM) — Delegations of participating countries in Women Speakers of Parliament Global Summit, have begun arriving in Abu Dhabi to take part in the summit, which will be held here on 12th and 13th December, at Emirates Palace.

The event will be held under the patronage of H.H. Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Chairwoman of the General Women’s Union, Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation and President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood. It is organised by the Federal National Council (FNC) in co-operation with the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU).

Dr. Amal Abdullah Al Qubaisi, Speaker of the FNC, and Chairwoman of the Summit, welcomed the delegations. “The summit will focus on the unification of will of leaders and legislators to put in place mechanisms that respond to the requirements of sustainable prosperity and security in today’s world, which is witnessing rapid changes.”

Saber Chowdhury, President of IPU, Martin Chungong, Secretary-General of IPU, and the heads of delegations of participating countries arrived in Abu Dhabi ahead of the summit.
