Deputy Minister of Education meets Director of UNESCO Office

Deputy Minister of Education Khaled Jahadir met on Sunday, Director of UNESCO’s Office in the Gulf States and Yemen Salah Khalid and his delegation.

In the presence of the Secretary-General of the UNESCO National Committee, Dr. Ahmed Al-Rubaie, Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Education Ibrahim Sharaf and Head of the Technical Office of the Ministry, Ziad Al-Rafiq, discussed aspects of cooperation between the Ministry and UNESCO and ways to strengthen and develop them.

At the meeting attended by the Directors of Education Sectors Farida Abodan and Culture Rasool Samadon of UNESCO,the Deputy Minister of Education reviewed the effects of the aggression on the educational process as a result of his direct and systematic targeting of educational establishments over the eight years of aggression and its repercussions on students and their future in general.

He noted the Ministry’s tireless efforts to implement its core priorities, notably the provision of salaries for teachers, as well as the provision of textbooks.

For his part, the Director of the UNESCO Office expressed his willingness to take care of the educational aspect and to open a communication channel for future meetings and visits.
