DUBAI, -- Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, Managing Director and CEO of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority, DEWA, has received a delegation from Schneider Electric in a bid to build closer ties, and exchange experiences and best practices in energy management and automation.
The delegation included Frederic Abbal, Executive Vice President of Energy Business, Hanan Darwish, President of Schneider Electric for the Gulf and Pakistan, and Nadir Al-Zoubi, Energy Vice President for the Gulf Countries and Pakistan. The visit is one of the many visits made by international company heads to DEWA.
Al Tayer welcomed the Schneider Electric delegation and apprised them of the major projects and initiatives that have been launched by DEWA. The projects support the vision of Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum to diversify energy sources through the adoption of sustainable and green energy solutions to promote sustainable development.
The projects were launched to achieve the objectives set in the UAE Vision 2021 to transform the UAE into one of the best and most sustainable countries in the world, and the Dubai Plan 2021 to transform Dubai into a smart, integrated, and sustainable city.
Al Tayer stressed that DEWA gives great importance to the promotion of effective partnerships between the public and private sectors, which play an important role in opening up prospects to better learn from their innovation and excellent experiences, while also helping to create better services and applications that meet the highest international standards and make Dubai the happiest and smartest city in the world.
In response, the delegation presented their latest line of smart solutions, which relies on artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things, IoT, open and big data, cloud systems, and smart grids.
