Dubai Land Department main sponsor for Dubai Property Show in London 2016

DUBAI, 9th May 2016 (WAM) - Dubai Land Department (DLD) has announced that it is the main sponsor with the Dubai Property Show, a major U.K. real estate exhibition, which is taking place in London for the second year from May 13 until May 16.

Organised in conjunction with DLD’s Investment Management and Promotion Centre, the three-day event is recognizing the importance of London, and DLD’s quest to reach the largest possible number of customers, especially that British investors are coming to the forefront of foreign nationalities most active in Dubai's real estate market.

"Our mission is to promote Dubai’s real estate market in order to brand the emirate as being the most prominent real estate investment destination in the world. We are committed to providing all the necessary support and encouragement to such valuable initiatives which play an important role in emphasising Dubai's status as an attractive market for investments worldwide,"

"We are keen to strengthen cooperation with the real estate investor relations around the world, in accordance with our mission that focuses on promoting our real estate market and to position Dubai as the world’s premier real estate destination and a byword for innovation, trust and happiness. Our presence at such an event supports the position of our developers and their unique offerings in this market, which we expect to be full of prospective customers," said Director General of the DLD, Sultan Butti Bin Mejren.

Over the past few months, DLD has been sending out invitations to property developers and real estate brokers operating in Dubai to participate in the event for them to promote their products to potential buyers, in particular British investors, who are showing growing interest in the local real estate market and they are ranked 4th among 198 nationalities investing in Dubai.

"This event is particularly important because it is being held in one of the most prestigious European capitals, London, which enjoys strong business links with Dubai as well as a solid trade exchange. These close ties are evident with the large British expatriate community living and working in Dubai," Bin Mejren added.

The statistics released by DLD show that the number of British investors in Dubai’s real estate market spent nearly AED 62 billion on more than 33,000 properties, ranging from lands, building and residential units. It also shows that British investors’ activity focused on the real estate units as they purchase of more than 22,000 units.

Based on these figures, it is expected that the exhibition provides an ideal platform for developers and real estate brokerage companies to showcase their products in one of the largest European capitals with a population of more than eight million people.

DLD’s participation in this exhibition is in parallel with a series of other successful events within an initiative known as ‘Tarweej’ (a developers’ assembly) launched by the Real Estate Investment Management and Promotion Centre. This aims to support the emirate's real estate sector by promoting communication between all parties and by focusing on products and real estate projects in Dubai.

The Dubai Property Show will act as a global platform that will bring together real estate developers, sales and marketing agents, hospitality developers, financial institutions and representatives of certain government departments, as well as architects, interior designers and many other companies operating in domains relevant to the property sector.
