DUBAI, -- The Dubai Municipality has contributed AED50,000 to Dar Al Ber Society, DABS, in support of its charitable and humanitarian activities across the country and around the world.
Hussain Nasser Lootah, Director-General of the Dubai Municipality, handed over a cheque to Abdullah Ali bin Zayed Al Falasi, Executive Director of Dar Al Ber, at the civic body headquarters.
The gesture is part of the Dubai Municipality's support as a silver sponsor for the second year in a row of the Dar Al Ber Orphans ceremony, which is held annually during the holy month of Ramadan.
The pioneering function is regularly held under the auspicious sponsorship of the wife of Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, H.H. Sheikha Hind bin Maktoum bin Juma Al Maktoum (Mother of Giving).
Al Falasi said the Dubai Municipality is well known for its relentless support of the philanthropic activities and programmes of Dar Al Ber Society for the benefit of poor and low-income people.
"The move will definitely bring happiness to this important vulnerable segment of the society," he noted.
