DUBAI, Elite falconers will spring into action during the next fortnight when the sixth edition of the Fakhr Al Ajyal (Pride of the Generation) Championship for Falconry Telwah begins on Thursday 1st February 2018 in the dedicated Fazza Falconry Championship site in Ruwayyah area off Emirates Road (exit 55) in Dubai.

Organised and supervised by the Hamdan Bin Mohammed Heritage Center (HHC), the second and most prestigious falconry championship which will continue until 15th February will see the participation of hundreds of elite falconers vying for coveted prizes and also qualify for the 'Noukhba' (Elite) Super Finals to be held on the last day of the tournament.

There will be an element of surprise in the Fakhr Al Ajyal Championship for Falconry Telwah this season since it will be worked off for the first time under a new format where participants will vie for Trophy, Car or Cash in each category.

The first day of competition scheduled to commence at 9 am will see five races in the Sheikhs category for Jeer Shaheen Farkh and Jernas falcons: Farkh � Trophy; Farkh � Car; Farkh � Cash; Jernas - Trophy and Jernas � Car.

Ms. Suad Ibrahim Darwish, Director of Championships at HHC, said there will be keen competition for the top spots with the participation of the best falconers in the UAE.

"We are looking forward to the success of our second championship this year which is the 'Pride of the Generation', based on the positive response during the Fazza Championship for Falconry Telwah held last month. The Rashid Bin Humaid Falconry Championship held with the cooperation of HHC in Ajman was also perfectly timed to prepare falcons for the Fakhr Al Ajyal Championship for Falconry Telwah," she said.

Darwish also welcomed all the participants and spectators, including foreigners, for the tournament, pointing out that the HHC has adapted to the stature of the tournament by providing the best services for all in the event site. "The latest electronic equipment has been installed to record timings of falcons and all technical procedures upgraded to ensure transparency in monitoring the results and reward the outstanding performers," she added.

Under the new format, there will be five races each day promising exciting competition in the categories for Sheikhs, General Public, Juniors and Local participants.
