BUENOS AIRES, 29th July, 2016 (WAM)–His Highness the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani and President of the Argentine Republic, Mauricio Macri, held a session of official talks on Thursday night at the Quinta de Olivos Presidential Palace.
According to Qatar News Agency, they reviewed bilateral relations and means of boosting and developing them on all fronts, particularly in the fields of economy and investment, so as to enhance the level of cooperation between the two friendly countries.
The two leaders touched on developments in the Middle East and the international arena as the two sides exchanged views on them.
After the session, the Emir and the Argentinian president witnessed the signing of a memorandum of understanding on cooperation in the legal field between Qatar’s Ministry of Justice and the Argentine Republic’s Ministry of Justice and Human Rights; a memorandum of understanding on mutual cooperation in the field of diplomatic training between the Diplomatic Institute at the State of Qatar’s Foreign Ministry and the National Foreign Service Institute (ISEN) at the Argentine Republic’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Worship; and a memorandum of understanding on holding political consultations between Qatar’s Foreign Ministry and the Argentine Republic’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Worship.
A number of members of the official delegation attended the session and the signing ceremony, while a number of ministers were present from the Argentinian side as well.
An official welcome ceremony was held in honour of the Emir upon his arrival at the Presidential Palace.
