FUJAIRAH, January 15th, 2017 (WAM)–The UAE is setting a heroic example written by its generous and giving sons who sacrificed their lives for humanitarian causes, H.H. Sheikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Fujairah, has said.
In a statement, he added, “As we bury the martyrs of humanitarian work who lost their lives in Kandahar, we see their glorious impact and their huge efforts to keep the nation’s flag raised high.”
Sheikh Hamad also praised the important humanitarian role of the martyrs who had been on a mission to support the Afghani people.
“The UAE will never stop supporting and rebuilding of destroyed areas and fight terrorism by promoting enlightenment, and building peace,” he said.
He stressed that this reflects the legacy of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, and the vision of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan on promoting social responsibility and volunteer work in the nation, which has become an engine for humanitarian and charitable initiatives in the Arab region and the entire world under the supervision of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces.
Sheikh Hamad added that the Year of Giving initiative confirms the pledge of the UAE to promote the charity work and to reach out to needy people throughout the world. He referred to humanitarian initiatives launched by Emirates Red Crescent under the presidency of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler’s Representative in the Western Region.
“Today we are stronger and moving forward towards the achievement of our humanitarian goals, thanks to the wisdom of our leadership, the ideas of our youth and the sacrifices of our sons. We won’t stop, and we won’t give up on our national project that has become a universal project, as the blood of our heroes lights our way,” he said.
