AJMAN, Sheikh Ahmed bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Ajman Ruler's Representative for Administrative and Financial Affairs, stated that celebrating Emirati Women's Day, which is being held this year under the theme, "Women on the Course of Zayed," coincided with the centennial of the founding father, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, and highlights the stature achieved by women since his era.
In his statement, he said that women today have proven, to the world, their ability to contribute to their community, as well as their presence, giving, and their efforts to serve their nation in many areas. They were and still are the partners of men in the country's development, in light of its wise leadership, he added.
He thanked H.H. Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Chairwoman of the General Women's Union, GWU, President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, and Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation, FDF, the "Mother of the UAE," for her efforts to promote the role of women and their stature in the community.
Emirati Woman's Day is marked on 28th August of every year to recognise women's achievements.
