ISTANBUL, 13th October, 2016 (WAM) – Minister of Energy, Suhail bin Mohammed Faraj Faris Al Mazrouei, today visited the UAE pavilion at the 23rd World Energy Congress in Istanbul.

The minister visited the stands of participating UAE companies and institutions at the pavilion on the sidelines of the energy congress. He was briefed about Emirati projects and its pioneering experience in energy in general, and renewable energy in particular, as well as its ‘mega projects’ in energy production.

He said that the UAE occupies a prestigious place in the global energy arena, thanks to the vision of the nation’s leadership.

Al Mazrouei also said that he appreciated the efforts of the Emirati team at the pavilion, thanking them for promoting the UAE’s stature and position in the energy sector worldwide. He also toured the pavilions of a number of Arab, foreign and friendly countries.

The energy minister met the Algerian Minister of Energy, Noureddine Bouterfa, and was briefed on projects implemented by Algeria in energy production, and also visited Saudi Arabia’s pavilion where he was given an update on the projects of the Saudi Arabian Oil Company, Aramco.

The Minister of Energy was accompanied by Dr. Matar Hamed Al Neyadi, Under-Secretary for the Ministry of Energy, and Fatima Al Shamsi, the Ministry’s Assistant Under-Secretary for Electricity, Clean Energy and Desalinated Water Affairs.
