ATHENS, 9th June, 2016 (WAM) — The Emirates Red Crescent (ERC) has implemented Iftar Projects for the refugees stranded in Greece and fasting. The projects are being implemented in co-operation with the Greek Red Cross.

The project includes provision of the ready-made meals to refugees in four camps.

The ERC has also distributed food parcels, that included necessary food requirements to the refugees.

Salem Al Ameri, Deputy Secretary-General of Fundraising and Marketing at the ERC, said the Iftar Project is part of the authority’s initiatives aimed at improving the living conditions of the refugees in Greece during the holy month of Ramadan.

Meanwhile, the ERC delegation visited the refugees at their camps and was briefed on their living conditions on the ground, requirements and services provided by some humanitarian bodies.
