ADEN, 31st January, 2017 (WAM) – Emirates Red Crescent, ERC, on Tuesday signed a partnership agreement with the Governors of Aden, Lahij and Dala’a in Aden to support developmental projects in these governorates.

The move is part of the ERC’s efforts to restore normalcy and rebuild the war-ravaged areas in Yemen.

“The deal coincides with the directives of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan to make 2017 the Year of Giving,” an ERC official said during the signing ceremony, held at Petra Hall at Coral Hotel in the temporary capital, Aden.

Inspired by the UAE President’s declaration, the ERC decided to bring brothers in Yemen under the Year of Giving umbrella by supporting a number of developmental projects there.

Major General Aidarus Al Zubaidi, Governor of Aden, thanked the ERC for its support to Aden in all fields. He welcomed the strategic partnership agreement between the local authorities and the ERC for supporting infrastructure projects, adding that the agreement would contribute to alleviating the suffering of citizens.

Major General Al Zubaidi also honoured the ERC for its significant role in restoring normalcy to Aden.

In turn, the ERC honoured the Governors of Aden, Lahij and Dala’a, and a number of Yemeni figures who contributed to the ERC’s success in Yemen.
