DUBAI, The Etihad Museum has honoured its strategic partners, including ministries, federal and local authorities, contractors, consultants and teams, on Saturday for their efforts, co-operation and effective participation in the accomplishment of the museum project.

Mohammed Ahmed Al Murr, Chairman of Etihad Museum Advisory Committee; Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Gargawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs and The Future and member of Etihad Museum Advisory Committee; Mattar Al Tayer, Director-General and Chairman of the Board of Executive Directors of Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) and member of Etihad Museum Advisory Committee, felicitated the partners.

The museum acts as a cultural hub for citizens, residents and tourists by educating them about the phases and challenges in the forming the UAE federation. It also exhibits the achievements made during the formation of the Union and seeks to instill the philosophy and value of the Union in the conscience of citizens and future generations.

During the event, a documentary depicting the work in progress at the Etihad Museum was shown. The museum was constructed on the same site where the constituent document declaring the founding of the UAE was signed. The museum illustrates the story of how the federation was established in 1971, and highlights the events that took place between 1968 and 1974.

The members of the Advisory Committee of Etihad Museum expressed their appreciation and thanked all the parties who contributed to the accomplishment of the museum on time.

The museum is admired by Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, and Their Highness Rulers of the Emirates.

The honourees at the ceremony included the Armed Forces, Presidential Guards, RTA, Dubai Culture and Arts Authority, General HQ of Dubai Police, Dubai Municipality, General Directorate of Civil Defence in Dubai, Media Office of the Government of Dubai, Office of His Highness the Crown Prince of Fujairah, Office of HH Sheikh Ahmed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, and National Archives and Department of Antiquities and Heritage at Umm Al Qaiwain.

Among other honourees were Dr. Sultan Al Qassemi Centre of Gulf Studies, Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum International Photography Award, and the fine artist Abdul Qadir Al Rayes, Abu Dhabi Tourism and Culture Authority, Zabeel Palace Hospitality, UAE Armed Forces Museum and Military History Center, UAE Knights (Forsan), Department of Tourism Development at Ajman, Emirates Post, Philatelic Association, Etisalat, Dubai World, Denka, ASGC, Wagner Peru, CH2M and NSCC.
