ABU DHABI, 24th May 2016 (WAM) – The European-UAE Human Rights Working Group will hold its sixth meeting in Abu Dhabi on Wednesday.
The meeting comes as part of the initiative launched by H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, with the aim of deepening mutual understanding, maintaining communication and holding discussions on a variety of topics of mutual concern on human rights. It also contributes to highlight the bright image of the UAE in all fields.
The meeting is held twice a year in rotation in Abu Dhabi and Brussels.
Tomorrow’s meeting will discuss a number of relevant issues, including human rights developments in the UAE and the EU, joint co-operation and efforts to promote religious tolerance, freedom of expression, combating terrorism, and other issues.
