ANKARA,1st May, 2016 (WAM) — A Turkish news agency is reporting an explosion near a police station in the southern city of Gaziantep, which has wounded at least nine people.

The private Dogan news agency said those injured in Sunday’s explosion at the entrance to the police station include at least six policemen. It says the explosion appears to have been caused by a car bomb and several ambulances have been sent to the scene, the agency says.

Meanwhile, in a separate incident, three soldiers were killed and 14 others injured in an armed attack carried out by members of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party, PKK, this morning during Turkish military operations in the Nusaybin district of Mardin in the southeast of the country.

According to a statement issued by the Presidency of the Turkish General Staff, an armed attack took place during operations aimed at clearing the area of the elements of the party.
