ABU DHABI, -- The UAE Ministry of State for Federal National Council Affairs has organised a brainstorming session for heads of polling stations during the FNC 2015 elections, to assess this experience, discuss international standards seen as among the best in the field, and develop the skills, capacities and tools of workers in polling stations.

The three topics addressed during the session were about polling stations before, during and after the voting process, including of the stations, restructuring station management, and training the heads of polling stations, interactions with voters, technical teams, the electronic voting system and early voting system, electoral executive guidelines, as well as subsequent communication with the elections management commission.

The discussions also covered the security of polling station and communication with the media.

This session is part of the ministry's efforts to develop and enhance the next elections through a series of brainstorming sessions on the 2015 elections.

The ministry is implementing the UAE leadership's directives that concern the use of innovative methods to enhance its performance while highlighting that these brainstorming sessions promote innovative methods as a response to their directives, said Tariq Hilal Lootah, Under-Secretary of the Ministry of State for Federal National Council Affairs.

This session highlighted the role of the station heads in enhancing the electoral process, he said.

Noting that the UAE's electoral experience is developing well, Lootah stressed that the UAE is applying global relevant practices seen as the best, to contribute towards promoting the UAE's experience as one of the best.
