DOHA, 2nd May, 2016 (WAM) — The Qatari Foreign Minister, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani, on Sunday held a number of separate phone calls with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Saudi Arabia, Adel bin Ahmed Al-Jubeir, U.S. Secretary of State, John Kerry, and German Federal Minister of Foreign Affairs, Frank-Walter Steinmeier.

According to the Qatar News Agency, QNA, talks during the phone conversations dealt with the tragic humanitarian situation in the city of Aleppo and the Syrian regime’s brutal massacre of civilians and the shelling of civilian institutions.

The talks stressed the need for the international community to assume its responsibilities to protect the Syrian people and ensure access for humanitarian aid.
