FUJAIRAH, H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Crown Prince of Fujairah, highlighted the pride of Emiratis at the approach of the Nation's Founder, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, to coexistence and openness.
He also noted that the country and its wise leadership is following Sheikh Zayed's approach, which is strengthening the values of tolerance among all religions and achieving peaceful human coexistence between all nationalities residing in the UAE.
He made this statement today while receiving, in his office at the Emiri Court, a delegation of senior priests, which included Stephen Jennes, Chief Priest of Fujairah, Jeremy Rene, Chief Priest of Abu Dhabi, John Fumar, Chief Priest of Dubai, and Josh Manley, Chief Priest in Ras Al Khaimah.
He welcomed the members of the delegation and described them as part of an open and tolerant Emirati community, whose members, both citizens and residents, are working together to establish the country's noble social values.
Sheikh Mohammed also discussed, with the delegation, issues related to the Christian community in the UAE, especially in Fujairah, and expressed his appreciation for their mutual action, which has promoted coexistence, pluralism and tolerance in the country.
The priests thanked H.H. Sheikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Fujairah, for supporting the Christian community and praised Sheikh Mohammed's support.
The delegation offered a book on religious diversity and inter-faith tolerance to Sheikh Mohammed and stressed their pride at belonging to the UAE, the country of tolerance.
The meeting was attended by Salem Al Zahmi, Director of the Office of the Fujairah Crown Prince.
