ABU DHABI, -- A standard national policy for juvenile delinquency prevention and proposals to set up optimal ways of providing care were at the centre of discussions of 16 local and federal government bodies at a workshop attended by H.H. Lt. General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior.

A proposal was formulated on a strategic committee to standardise relevant work in government departments, create specialised juvenile courts and enhance co-operation and exchange of relevant information.

Another proposal was made to form a standard national policy to carry out relevant initiatives and polices for addressing juvenile delinquency.

The country's leadership takes a keen interest in teamwork and common initiatives, Sheikh Saif noted.

The proposals will be submitted to the Secretariat-General of the Cabinet, stated Major General Dr Nasser Lakrebani Al Nuaimi, the Secretary-General of the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, when he opened the workshop.
