RIYADH, 26th October, 2015 (WAM) — Officials from the Yemeni government and representatives of relief organisations in the GCC countries have met to discuss the coordination of relief programmes in Yemen.

The meeting, which was held at the headquarters of the GCC General Secretariat in Riyadh, adopted the establishment of a joint coordination mechanism between Gulf relief organisations and the Yemeni Higher Committee for Relief in Aden in order to deliver relief to the needy in various regions in Yemen.

During the meeting, the parties also agreed on supporting the Higher Committee for Relief to strengthen its capacities to ensure the effective and comprehensive performance programmes of relief in all the provinces.
