DHAKA, 7th July 2016 (WAM) — A Bangladesh prayer gathering was attacked by assailants armed with guns and bombs on Thursday, killing one policeman and injuring 12 others during an Eid al-Fitr event.
Worshipers were praying in Kishoregunj District northeast of Dhaka, when the attack began, local police said.
The attack comes less than a week after 20 hostages and two policemen were killed in a terrorist attack on a popular bakery in Dhaka.
The Eid-al-Fitr festival celebrates the end of Ramadan, when Muslims break their fast and celebrate with their communities and families.
