ABU DHABI, H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler's Representative in Al Dhafra Region, received, in Qasr Al Bahr, Rashed Saif Al Qubaisi, Deputy CEO of the Abu Dhabi Health Services Company, SEHA.

Sheikh Hamdan learnt, from Al Qubaisi, about the accomplishments of Al Dhafra's hospitals in 2018, most notably the restoration and upgrading of operating rooms at Madinat Zayed Hospital, the comprehensive upgrading of the Al Dhafra Family Medicine Centre, and the launch of a comprehensive check-up programme and a cardiac catheterisation service in Madinat Zayed.

SEHA's projects also include the availability of operations to insert stomach balloons in patients suffering from obesity, services for infants, the upgrading of an MRI unit at Madinat Zayed Hospital, and supplying several hospitals in Al Dhafra with modern medical equipment.

Sheikh Hamdan also reviewed several ongoing initiatives, including the appointment of surgeons to the cardiac catheterisation unit to receive and treat urgent cases, expanding intensive care services for infants in Madinat Zayed Hospital to include pre-term children, providing digestive and endoscopy services, and increasing the number of one-day-surgery unit monitoring beds in the hospital.

SEHA's projects also include the construction of infrastructure to deal with contagious diseases, including specialist clinics at the Al Dhafra Family Medicine Centre, as well as medical cosmetic services that are not available in the region.

It also included strengthening and developing all home care services in all cities of the region while securing integrated care for the elderly and chronic medical and surgical cases at home.

Sheikh Hamdan called for developing plans and initiatives to improve the health and medical services offered to customers in order to bring these services to par with international standards, while meeting the needs of various segments of society.

He praised the efforts of the work teams at SEHA for their sincere efforts to provide quality health services.

Later, Sheikh Hamdan received Aref Mohammed Al Awani, Secretary-General of the Abu Dhabi Sports Council who updated him on the sporting and social events, and activities held in Al Dhafra Region as well as the Abu Dhabi Sports Council's role in providing all needed tools for the participants to enhance their performance and for the region to maintain its stature as one of the most prominent tourist and sporting destinations in the country.

Sheikh Hamdan was also updated on the projects carried out at the Al Dhafra Club and As-Sila Ladies Club alongside the plans of both clubs and their roles in offering best possible services.

He issued directives for establishing a community club in Ghayathi city to serve the people of the region that supports interaction between female segments of society.
