ABU DHABI, 7th November 2016 (WAM) – H.H. Sheikh Hamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chief of the Abu Dhabi Crown Prince’s Court, has officially launched the first-ever Annual Statistical Bulletin (ASB) Smart App, which is a joint development by IT experts from OPEC and the UAE Ministry of Energy.

Sheikh Hamed launched the app after opening the Abu Dhabi International Petroleum Exhibition and Conference (ADIPEC) in Abu Dhabi earlier today.

The new app will make the ASB’s content of international oil and gas data available instantaneously from any mobile device.

Suhail bin Mohammed Faraj Faris Al Mazrouei, UAE Minister of Energy, said the ministry’s cooperation with OPEC emanated from its keenness to collaborate with strategic partners to promote petroleum culture and to support energy-related initiatives.

“We seek to promote innovation in delivering reliable, accurate and timely data. We are coordinating with OPEC to update this app on annual basis,” he added.

The ASB Smart App was developed to provide increased access to the publication’s important energy data, which will now be available for download on iOS and Android mobile devices.

The primary goal of the ASB is to make reliable data on the global oil and gas industry easily available to industry stakeholders and the public at large. The publication has become a valued and trusted source among energy players around the world while promoting data sharing and transparency throughout the industry.

Using the Smart App’s search function, academics, researchers, journalists, policymakers and analysts will be able to instantaneously download charts and tables to visualize the latest trends occurring in the energy markets.
