HOUSTON, 9th April, 2016 (WAM)–H.H. Sheikh Hamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chief of the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi’s Court, has met with a number of Emirati doctors dispatched for scholarships in the United States and Canada for specialised medical programmes.
While exchanging conversations with them, Sheikh Hamed acquainted himself with the nature of scientific programmes they receive from various medical centres in the United States and Canada, notably the most important disciplines of the medical and hospital management.
The move is a part of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan’s initiative to dispatch outstanding Emirati physicians to the United States under the sponsorship of the Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation.
Sheikh Hamed bin Zayed said that the UAE, led President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, takes interest in the human resources development so as to strengthen and hone their scientific skills.
He pointed out that the dispatch of a group of doctors to the highest international scientific and research centres “comes within the framework of honing their skills and transferring these experiences to the medical sector in the country.”
Sheikh Hamed expressed his delight about the existence of this constellation of citizens who seek to develop their skills and abilities, pointing out that the acquisition of knowledge and science does not stop at certain limits. He called on the doctors to exert more efforts through benefiting from available opportunities.
For their part, the doctors praised the care of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, citing the initiative launched by the Khalifa Foundation to develop the capabilities of Emirati doctors. They stressed that the initiative launched by the Khalifa Foundation to enhance the efficiency of doctors through joining the prestigious international institutions “is one of the basic and important initiatives in the development of medical staff in the country.” The doctors extended their appreciation to Sheikh Hamed bin Zayed for his eagerness to communicate and follow up their affairs.
The meeting was attended by Yousef Al Otaiba, UAE Ambassador to the United States, and Mohammed Hajji Al Khouri, Director General of the Khalifa Foundation
